Each year Sydney Adventist Hospital provides a special Christmas gift to the local community—a Carols by Candlelight spectacular.
Thousands are expected at this year’s event, which will be held on Sunday (December 9) on the Wahroonga hospital’s front lawn.
“We love the community joining us for San Carols by Candlelight,” hospital CEO Brett Goods said. “It’s an opportunity for family and friends to unite and share goodwill, validating the San’s role in helping restore people to good health and fulfilling lives.
“Christmas highlights the significance of family, and we see all the community as our family. The San carols are our Christmas gift to our community.”
This year’s line-up includes musical theatre stars Amanda Harrison and Kane Alexander, 2014 The Voice contestant Emily Rex, the Wahroonga Adventist School Choir and children’s entertainers Poppy and Branch from Trolls. The evening will finish with a spectacular fireworks display.
Ms Rex, a singer-songwriter from Cooranbong (NSW), said performing at the San carols is a dream come true. “I’ve always loved singing carols most of all,” she said. “I feel honoured to have been asked to sing and share the joy of Christmas.”
The activities begin at 4pm, including a petting zoo, face painting and balloon artists. Adventist Media ministry Mums At The Table will be giving away magazines from its stall. The children’s concert starts at 7pm and the main program at 7.30pm. Food will be available and there is free parking.
