Seven people were baptised at Siai church last month following a series of youth and outreach activities in the Popondetta District of Papua New Guinea.
The baptisms took place during the third-quarter District Quartet Youth Activities program, hosted by Siai church. Pastor Rata Sapulai was the guest speaker.
Five of those baptised were from Magure church, one was from Siai and one was from Dirou. Among them were Magure Primary School headmaster George Dogio and his wife, Muriel.
During the third quarter, Uni Church coordinated activities across its three branch churches at Magure, Siai and Dirou. Church elders, Ambassadors and young people took turns leading Sabbath preaching programs.
The activities also included the district’s first Pathfinder camp, held at Magure church.
According to Uni Church first elder Kenneth Yang, the Siai gathering was the first District Quartet Youth Activities program held in the area. He said there was growing interest among young people eager to follow Jesus, including some from other denominations.
