Trans-Pacific for Christ: The work continues

Keep family and friends informed by sharing this article.

The Trans-Pacific for Christ campaign has almost completed, although programs are still taking place in some of the more isolated areas.

In Fiji, 4071 people have been baptised through 446 programs. Five of these sites had preachers who travelled from North India. They attracted large crowds of Fijian Indians who did not come from a Christian background.

In the Solomon Islands, 7359 people have been baptised through 304 sites. Many of these programs were held in schools and had an incredible impact. I visited one of these places in Buala, and I still hear from people there. They are continuing to visit those who attended the programs, including the 10 people who were baptised.

Vanuatu recorded 1451 baptisms across 62 sites and established 11 new church plants.

In Tonga, 187 people were baptised through 48 sites across the different islands.

In Samoa, 1598 people were baptised through 63 sites, two new church plants were established, and there were 91 marriages that took place as part of the preparation for baptism.

American Samoa recorded 116 baptisms from 10 sites, while Tuvalu had 23 baptisms from two sites, with another program still taking place on an outer island.

Nauru recorded 14 baptisms from one site, Kiribati had 200 from 11 sites, and Niue recorded seven baptisms from two sites.

That’s a total of 15,026 baptisms, and not everyone has reported yet!

However, the work does not stop when the programs finish. Departmental leaders in every mission are now visiting churches and providing training for new believers and church leaders. They are helping churches understand how to continue working with new people through the discipleship process and how to track their progress.

We are seeing people stick with us because of the care they receive, as well as the message. As Adventists, we have a great message to share, but we also need to show great care.
