The South Pacific Division (SPD) launched global Adventist Church initiative OneVoice27, at the South Pacific for Christ event at Watson Park Convention Centre, Brisbane, Australia.

The launch was part of the Wednesday night program at South Pacific for Christ and featured an explanatory video, some information on what OneVoice27 will include, a dedicatory prayer and a challenge to gathered church leaders that everyone should be involved.

OneVoice27 will run throughout 2027 to commemorate 2000 years since Jesus’ baptism.

Church leaders hope it will be a movement of Adventists across the world who are unified in sharing Jesus using any means all with one voice. While the campaign will rely on media, there will be many ways to be involved.

“What if your church, your members, your community and your screen was part of something bigger,” said Adventist Media CEO, Dr Brad Kemp during the introduction of the segment.

“In every person’s hand there is a communication device or perhaps I should say an evangelism tool.”

Referencing Matthew 24:19, he said, “We live in a time where the gospel can go because we have these tools of communication.”

“If we want to preach in a loud voice, we need to preach in One Voice,” he said.

While there will be an emphasis on media evangelism, the program will take place in person as well, climaxing in “harvest” events in September 2027.

“We live in a digital world,” said Pastor Wayne Boehm, from SPD’s Adventist Mission department during a video that was played as part of the launch. “But [OneVoice27] isn’t just about digital spaces. People are searching everywhere for meaning for significance and for hope, they seek this through conversations through stories and music, through books through acts of kindness and as a church, we’re called to meet people wherever they are.”

The video featured various SPD leaders and representatives, who filled in more details about what the campaign will achieve and look like in SPD.

Then Pastor Maveni Kaufononga, SPD vice president, took to stage to leave attendees with a charge and to announce the theme of the campaign: All things new—Hope starts here.

“This message is not just to be heard, it is to be experienced,”  he said. “A message of hope, transformation and new life in Jesus.”

Attendees were handed a small rugby ball with the OneVoice27 logo on it. It was handed out by Union representatives, who Pastor Kaufononga joked were former All Blacks (NZ), Wallabies (AU) and Kumuls (PNG) players. He used the analogy of a rugby player carrying the ball over the try line. “You need some bold and fearless runners, willing to take the ball, knowing they are willing to be tackled but are willing to sacrifice themselves in order for the team to win the game.”

Pastor Kaufononga announced that each union would decide exactly how the program would look, but that the teams would need the right training. Each division will send 10 content creators to the GC in July to be part of a OneVoice27 content creator summit.

“This is your invitation to work together to speak together to lift up Jesus together,” said Pastor Kaufononga. “Are you ready to be part of OneVoice27? Will you pray, share and get involved? Are you in?”

Pastor Erton Köhler, General Conference president led a prayer of dedication for the initiative.

“Please help us to be involved and use us as leaders of the church to mobilse the church in all the SPD to see a multitude of people using all mediums to announce the second coming of Jesus,” he prayed.

The campaign was launched at the General Conference Annual Council in 2025 and is now being rolled out in all the 13 world divisions, who will look at how they can contextualise the program for their local region.
