More than 500 church members gathered at Wadauda Seventh-day Adventist church in Milne Bay Province, Papua New Guinea, for the 2026 Alotau District Combined Camp Meeting, held June 8-14.
Wadauda church is located in an environmental conservation area, near the border of Milne Bay and Central provinces. According to organisers, 559 people attended from six churches across the district: Gopaia, Wokauna, Ahioma, Wagawaga, Alotau Town and Wadauda.
The program began with the opening and dedication of the Doorway Guest House, a new facility intended to serve the remote region.
Guest speaker Pastor Rutter Sapulai, stewardship director for the Northern and Milne Bay Mission, presented messages focused on faithful stewardship and Christian commitment. On the Sabbath (June 13), six people were baptised by Pastor Sapulai and Pastor Mathew Rumeni.
”True stewardship encompasses our time, talents and absolute surrender to God’s calling,” Pastor Sapulai said. “To see hundreds of believers journey deep into the conservation forest to seek the Lord is a powerful testament to our mission. The spiritual harvest witnessed here proves that when God’s people unite, the Holy Spirit moves in miraculous ways.”

The camp meeting was facilitated by Alotau District director Minister Wonern Hirodidi and featured dawn prayer sessions led by Gillian Torie. It involved a dedicated network of area supervisors, district ministers, ordained pastors and Volunteers in Action volunteers working in harmony to minister to the overflowing crowd.
“Executing an event of this magnitude in such a remote terrain is a monumental achievement,” Minister Hirodidi stated. “The seamless coordination, the deep spiritual hunger of the 559 attendees and the presence of the Holy Spirit have set a new benchmark for our regional fellowship, strengthening our structural unity to expand the gospel.”
Minister Lloyd Gadea, pastor of Wadauda church, also expressed praise for the event.
“Seeing these six precious souls take their stand for Christ makes every ounce of logistical effort worthwhile,” he said. “The Wadauda church is deeply honoured, and we are confident these spiritual seeds will permanently inspire our community.”
