Christchurch Multicultural Filipino Seventh-day Adventist Church (CMFSDAC), South New Zealand, welcomed five new members through baptism.
The ceremony was held on October 5 at Bishopdale Seventh-day Adventist Church. Pastor Lowell Quinto, CMFSDAC’s pastor and officiating minister, expressed his gratitude for the dedication and prayers that culminated in this occasion. During the baptismal ceremony, he emphasised the importance of staying connected with God.
“Let us continue to study God’s Word together and be more equipped with His teachings,” Pastor Quinto said. “Always remember to connect with God daily by reading your Bible and praying.”
One of the newly baptised members, Jerrick Dhale Pia, reflected on the significance of the moment in his spiritual journey.
“It is a fresh start and a step forward in becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ and a follower of God,” he explained.
CMFSDAC elder Roger Murray praised the commitment of the young candidates and underscored the importance of nurturing them in the faith.
“This is just the beginning of their spiritual journey, and as a church, we have a responsibility to guide and mentor them,” Mr Murray said.
“In a world filled with distractions, especially in this digital age, it’s our duty to keep them anchored in the teachings of Jesus Christ.”
The newly baptised were warmly welcomed by their family, friends and the church community, who offered love and support. CMFSDAC has already planned follow-up Bible studies, prayer groups and small groups to continue mentoring and supporting them on their spiritual journey.
