Finding faith in the desert

After 15 days surrounded by red dirt and dull vegetation, I was happy to see the first glimpse of green in a small oasis-like wetland near the end of the desert. I had just experienced the most unexpected and challenging trip I’d ever been on. It felt like the longest as well but it was finally coming to an end.

Today’s endless pursuit of success and happiness can cost many areas of our lives that actually sustain us like rest, time with family, health, and the list goes on. . . There is a cost to our culture’s aspiration of “having it all”.

The real good news

A healthy and dynamic faith will experience growth and change, and during these times, faith is challenged, stretched and pushed. This is healthy but it is also hard.
