Prescott College music students travelled to Melbourne from September 7 to 13 for the school’s first chapel band music tour in decades.
The group visited three Adventist schools during the week, leading chapel programs through music and Scripture-based messages.
Digital technologies teacher Tiana Potts said the tour gave students an opportunity to “put their faith into action”, using their musical gifts to serve and build community.
The school visits began at Edinburgh College, where the students led separate chapel services for primary and secondary students.
At Mernda Hills Christian College, the band led a combined whole-school chapel involving primary and secondary students. The visiting students also spent time with their Melbourne counterparts through a staff-versus-students volleyball match, a school tour and afternoon classes.
The group’s final school visit was Nunawading Christian College, where Prescott College music teacher Kevin Lozada previously attended school.
The tour concluded on Sabbath at Dandenong Filipino-Australian Seventh-day Adventist Church, where the students participated in the worship service through music and sermons and joined the congregation in community outreach.
Ms Potts described the tour as an opportunity for students and staff to grow closer to God and one another. “The kindness extended to us by all three schools and the church is greatly appreciated and we look forward to the future,” she added.
