Warwick Seventh-day Adventist Church has partnered with Mums At The Table to launch Queensland’s fourth group.
Church members were inspired by the South Queensland Conference’s message to bless others. “As mums, we thought to start a small women’s group, suggested it to the church and our pastor referred your group to us,” said volunteer moderator Ms Nora Masculino.
Mums At The Table partners with local Seventh-day Adventist churches to strengthen community impact, hosting targeted local gatherings for parents. The initiative equips congregations to build lasting relationships with those beyond their church walls by creating safe, welcoming spaces where mothers can connect and develop local networks.
“I wanted an avenue for a group of women to come together to uplift and enjoy each other’s company,” said volunteer moderator Ms Alexandra King.
The group held a swap-meet at a local park for its first meet-up. Mums were encouraged to swap clothes, toys, kitchenware and even stories. Two mums from the community attended and the volunteer moderators took the opportunity to promote the group to mums at the park.
“When a digital ministry starts, it often takes a while, months even, before people work up the courage to attend an in-person event, so it’s encouraging that they’ve already had two mums from the community attend,” said Ms Melody Tan project manager of Mums At The Table.
