Mernda Hills Christian College (MHCC), in Victoria, has launched an initiative to provide every current and future primary student with their own Bible.
Under the initiative, students will receive an age-appropriate Go Bible, published by Tyndale House Publishers, to use during classes throughout their primary years. Students will be able to highlight and make notes in their Bibles before taking them home when they finish Year 6.
The initiative will replace a limited collection of older adult-edition Bibles currently used by the school.
MHCC principal Kristin Forbes said the school aims to continue nurturing students’ personal relationship with Jesus through this initiative.
“[We want] to help our primary students deeply engage with God’s Word. For many of our young learners, this will be the very first Bible they truly own,” Mrs Forbes said.
The school is inviting members of the community to support the initiative through prayer or donations.
