Adventist youth united to share kindness and positively impact their local community on August 3.

Leaders from the Mount Druitt Samoan church alongside other Adventist youth from western Sydney volunteered to make a difference.

“They organised a clothing giveaway and cleaned up the streets, spreading kindness and creating a positive impact in the area,” Greater Sydney Conference youth director Pastor Dejan Stojkovic said.

“Their efforts demonstrated the power of unity and the importance of serving others.”

Around 30 people from the community visited the clothing table to take the items they needed, highlighting the real and present needs.

Initiatives such as this are set to be repeated for Global Youth Day next year, when churches are encouraged to take their young people into the community to serve.

Pastor Stojkovic said engaging in activities such as serving food, cleaning up areas in need, visiting and singing in aged care facilities, and helping the homeless can create meaningful impact and show Christ through their actions.

“One way to ensure that our church remains outward-focused rather than inward-focused is to step out in faith and serve outside the church walls,” Pastor Stojkovic explained.

“By doing so, we embody the true spirit of Christ’s love and compassion.”

Global Youth Day will be held on March 15, 2025. Click here for more details.
