Students from Toronto Adventist Primary School (NSW) led Sabbath worship services at three churches over three consecutive weeks, putting the school’s music ministry into practice while sharing Scripture and messages with the congregations.
Presented at Toronto, Lakeside (Bonnells Bay) and Hillview (Morisset) churches, each program centred on Isaiah 55 and concluded with students in Years 2 to 6 reciting the entire chapter from memory.
Music featured prominently throughout the services, with students performing on string instruments as part of the school’s music program. The programs included a dramatisation of the parable of the ten virgins, and the school choir also presented two-part harmonies that reinforced the day’s theme.
Student speaker Boaz St Mart encouraged church members to value God’s Word, drawing lessons from the example of the Waldenses, who preserved and shared the Scriptures despite persecution.
Hillview church member Mary Fedorow said seeing the students lead worship was an encouragement to each congregation.
“There are few moments that bring more joy to a congregation’s heart than seeing their young people leading out in worship,” she said.
She said the services gave church members an opportunity to see the next generation using their gifts in worship and sharing their faith.
