The expatriate Papua New Guinean (PNG) community in Honiara, Solomon Islands, celebrated PNG’s 45th Independence Day on Wednesday, September 16.

The event, held at the PNG High Commission Chancery at Townground in Honiara, commenced with a sermon presented by Seventh-day Adventist church pastor Robinson Diosi.

It was followed by speeches from representatives of the High Commission and PNG nationals who reflected on the country’s independence, as well as a lunch and the presentation of gifts to community members.
