A women’s retreat recently organised by the Macksville Adventist church (NNSW) brought spiritual growth, fellowship, good food and fun.
“Joy of Change” was held at Stuarts Point Convention Centre on the weekend of November 8-10, despite the closure of the Pacific Highway late Friday due the extreme fire situation in the area. This prevented several women being able to attend, including NNSW Conference women’s ministries leader Bethany Chapman.
Fortunately, the speaker for the weekend, Kylie Cullinan, was able to arrive late Friday evening and presented some amazing aspects on the Joy of Change theme.
Attendees also heard about the needs of women in Kurdistan (Iran) and generously supported an offering to rebuild a centre that will fulfill their needs. On Saturday evening, the women had fun decorating hats that were judged by a local Macksville boutique owner.
The evaluations of the weekend revealed the need for conference women’s weekends and the benefit they provide to attendees.
