A spiritual blessing was given to mark the relocation of specialities from Hudson Ward in Clifford Tower to a new home at Sydney Adventist Hospital.

Chaplain Arthur Hudson said a special prayer, asking for God’s blessings: “I ask that You bless this place and bless this team so that staff unity and identity may flourish.”

Chief operations and nursing executive Clare Lumley addressed the nurses, hospital executives and other staff, recognising those responsible for overseeing the project and ensuring the smooth transition.

Nurse unit manager Todd Moy gave an overview of the project, highlighting some of the move’s benefits, and acknowledged the efforts of staff.

“Moving forward we aim to incorporate vascular patients and upskill staff with telemetry,” Mr Moy said. “Nursing is ever evolving and as a team we will strive to do our best and increase our clinical competency.”

The specialties of the ward remain the same with the addition of vascular surgery.

The decision to relocate the specialties from Hudson Ward was made to make use of the existing enhanced patient monitoring capabilities available on Butler Ward, which is on Level 9 of the building.
