At Tiapapata Church, south of Apia in Samoa, I had the privilege of participating in Trans Pacific for Christ. It was a joyful experience of witnessing God’s Spirit at work and a reminder that we are part of a movement reaching across the South Pacific. That same sense of shared mission is shaping preparations for OneVoice New Zealand Pacific. Over the past 12 months, prayer, fasting and planning have laid the foundation for our New Zealand Pacific Union Conference’s participation with the world church in 2027, with a mission focus continuing through to 2030.
At its heart, OneVoice is about people: engaging them with Jesus, helping them encounter Him personally and empowering them to join Him in His mission. It is an invitation for every church, school, family and member to take part. Led by Pastor Victor Kulakov (NZPUC missional ministries leader), and our Union team, preparations are moving through the next stage of local planning. Partnerships across the South Pacific will follow, creating opportunities to share blessings and serve alongside our sister unions.
Throughout 2027, our missions and conferences will participate in a full year of ministry—a Pacific wave reaching across Pitcairn, French Polynesia, Wallis and Futuna, New Caledonia, the Cook Islands and New Zealand. This will include ministry training, new small groups, Bible studies, church planting, public and follow-up evangelism, schools on mission, community and media outreach, disciple-making and health ministry. Across our diverse communities, these ministries will offer opportunities to build relationships, meet needs and share the hope we have in Jesus.
The invitation begins now. Pray for the people in your community. Join others in prayer and fasting. Consider how your gifts, your church or your school could help someone take their next step towards Jesus. Everyone has a part to play. Key dates, locations, resources and opportunities will be shared as planning progresses at 1voice.nz. Together, we will pray and fast, equip and send, welcoming members and guests into God’s mission so that every person has the opportunity to live life to the fullest in Jesus.
