Around 65 people attended Christian Vision and Hearing Services’ (CVHS) recent assistive listening seminars in Sydney and Cooranbong.
The free seminars, held at Kellyville Seventh-day Adventist Church and Avondale Memorial Seventh-day Adventist Church, explored ways churches can better understand hearing loss and create more inclusive worship environments. They were presented by Graham Weir, a member of the General Conference Adventist Possibility Ministries Taskforce for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and included a presentation from Scott Riley of Ambertech on the very latest in assistive listening technology: Auracast.
Attendees experienced demonstrations of the Auracast technology and learned about new developments that could benefit their local churches.
Several churches have since expressed interest in introducing assistive listening technology to better support members and visitors with hearing loss.
