Children’s and Women’s Ministries leaders from across the South Pacific met in Sydney from June 22 to 25 to strengthen collaboration and plan initiatives aimed at supporting churches in discipling children, women and families.

Representatives from the four unions joined General Conference (GC) leaders for the advisory, where discussions focused on aligning ministry priorities, sharing resources and preparing churches for future mission initiatives.

“Because many union directors oversee both ministries, most sessions were held jointly to encourage collaboration and integrated planning,” said South Pacific Division Women’s and Children’s Ministries director Ruth Batu.

GC Children’s Ministries director Dr Orathai Chureson said partnerships between every level of the Church are essential for effective discipleship.

“When we intentionally disciple children and equip families, we are not only shaping today’s church but investing in the future of God’s kingdom. Partnership at every level enables us to fulfil Christ’s mission together.”

The advisory also explored the implementation of the Alive in Jesus curriculum, leadership development, safeguarding, discipleship resources and support for each union’s “For Christ” initiative.
