Seventh-day Adventists across the region are invited to take part in the upcoming South Pacific for Christ launch, a gathering designed to inspire, equip and mobilise members for mission.
Around 1300 representatives are expected to gather at Watson Park Convention Centre in Brisbane, Australia, from April 28 to May 2 for prayer, spiritual renewal and training as the Church prepares for evangelistic initiatives throughout the Pacific.
South Pacific Division (SPD) president Pastor Glenn Townend said the event will be an opportunity for members to unite in prayer and prepare themselves for the mission ahead.
“This is an opportunity to be part of history—praying together and equipping ourselves to participate in the South Pacific for Christ movement,” Pastor Townend said.
The launch will feature keynote presentations from General Conference president Pastor Erton Köhler and Global Mission director Dr Gary Krause. Participants will engage in sessions focused on discipleship, evangelism and cross-cultural outreach.
SPD vice president Pastor Maveni Kaufononga said the gathering marks the beginning of a renewed emphasis on mission across the region.
“South Pacific for Christ marks the beginning of something special—a moment of spiritual renewal, a culture of intentional evangelism and a clear commitment to making disciples who live the call ‘I Will Go’,” he said.
Pastor Terry Johnson, director of the SPD ministry and strategy team and director of youth, said the event will also provide a significant opportunity for young people to become actively involved in the Church’s mission.
“Young people across the South Pacific, this could be your moment,” Pastor Johnson said. “Bring your friends. Bring your passion. Be part of a generation committed to Jesus’ mission.”
