For the second year, the Greater Sydney Conference (GSC) youth department brought together young leaders from across the region for a leadership convention at Crosslands Youth & Convention Centre.
Held from January 30 to February 1, the gathering united Pathfinders, Adventurers, STORMCo teams and youth leaders to grow in skills, faith and community, equipping them to make a meaningful impact in their local churches and communities.
This year’s event welcomed more than 200 participants, nearly double the previous year, including visiting youth and leaders from North and South New South Wales conferences. The weekend offered a wide range of learning opportunities, including Pathfinder and Adventurer leadership workshops, youth leadership sessions, Master Guide courses and STORMCo preparation, giving participants practical tools and spiritual guidance to serve with confidence and purpose.

A highlight of the convention was worship and spiritual inspiration, led by the Wollongong Youth Group and featuring Australian Union Conference youth director Pastor Rick Hergenhan. Through special music and an encouraging message, participants were reminded of the true purpose of leadership: guiding young people closer to Jesus and serving their communities with love and compassion.
Fellowship and community were just as important as the workshops. Breakfasts were provided by Sanitarium, and shared meals became opportunities for participants to connect, build friendships and strengthen the sense of one team, one church across the Greater Sydney Conference.
Sunday focused on STORMCo training, preparing teams to serve communities across Australia and make a real difference in the lives of others.
“The convention was more than workshops and sessions; it was a launchpad for mission, faith and service,” said GSC youth director Pastor Dejan Stojkovic.
“As participants return to their churches and communities, they carry not only new skills and knowledge, but also a renewed passion to share God’s love in action. Inspired and empowered, they are ready to make a real and lasting difference, bringing hope, service and Christ’s light to every corner of their communities.”
