The Seventh-day Adventist Church has honoured Dr Helen Hall, a dedicated and inspiring educator who has given more than six decades of faithful mission service.

On November 10 in Chiang Mai, Thailand, Dr Hall was presented with a citation from the South Pacific Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the Church’s mission in New Guinea, Australia, Myanmar and Thailand.

“We acknowledge your dedication, passion, tenacity and courage that has made a significant and incredible contribution to the mission of the Church across the world for the last 65 years,” the citation reads. “We honour you for your compassion, integrity and dedication to serving. We thank you Helen for your faithfulness and commitment to God and His people throughout the years of your ministry.”

Dr Hall has spent more than four decades working in the Myanmar-Thailand border region, where she founded the Eden Valley Academy, a school offering education to displaced refugees from Myanmar. She continues to serve at the academy, which currently caters for more than 1100 students.

“Her faithfulness to God has blessed countless lives along the border and continues to bless those that come into her care,” the citation reads. “Her graduates work not only in Thailand and Myanmar, but a significant number have been resettled to the United States of America, Australia and other countries around the world. Helen, through your mission service, your legacy and contribution to the kingdom extends across the world and will continue throughout eternity. Your service and missionary spirit continues to inspire and transform lives. We honour you as you reach this milestone of 65 years of teaching ministry.”
