A visit by Greater Sydney Conference leaders to the Solomon Islands (SI) has further enhanced the partnership between GSC and the SI Mission.

From July 29 to August 5, GSC president Pastor Alban Matohiti and CFO Nadelle Manners visited the Solomon Islands, spending time at the Mission office, where they provided training to the administration and finance team. They were warmly welcomed by the team, who demonstrated a strong sense of unity and enthusiasm.

“I was deeply impressed by the team spirit and the evident excitement among them,” said Pastor Matohiti. “They are driven by a shared mission to spread the gospel to all corners of their beautiful country.”

During their visit, Pastor Matohiti and Mrs Manners travelled to Kukudu, where a camp was taking place for leaders from various provinces. Additionally, the GSC leaders visited Adventist schools and toured the local Hope Channel studio. On Sabbath morning, Pastor Matohiti delivered a sermon at Kukudu, while Mrs Manners preached at Betikama Adventist College church.

“As we have freely received, we also wish to freely give through our partnership with the Solomon Islands Mission,” said Pastor Matohiti. “This collaboration offers countless opportunities for us to work together for God’s mission.

“At the Greater Sydney Conference, we recognise that there is much to learn from our sister mission. Their team spirit is remarkable, their love for the Lord is profound and they prioritise valuing people above all else. Despite having little, their generosity is abundant. This genuine godliness touches everyone who encounters the church in our sister mission.”
