Prior to the service, Dr Chureson visited the children’s Sabbath school classes and was impressed to see the new "Alive in Jesus" curriculum being implemented.
Until now, members had worshipped in a bush-material structure.
The course covered a range of topics, including types of marriage, legal procedures for registration, religious and civil ceremonies, divorce and remarriage, premarital counselling and the distinction between church and garden weddings.
The week-long evangelistic campaign drew more than 500 attendees and concluded with the baptism of 14 people.
The initiative was part of a new worldwide emphasis launched by the Seventh-day Adventist Church to engage Ambassador-age youth (typically 16-21) through spiritual connection, leadership and community involvement.
An initiative that fosters partnerships between conferences and missions across the South Pacific is yielding encouraging results.
