A dozen Fijian young people from different villages around the Highlands have started a ministry of singing and empowerment called Highland Legacy Ministry.
The group, made up of Fulton Adventist University College students from around Fiji, travelled to Navala village for the weekend of ministry to serve the Navala church group, one of the Navatusila District branch churches in Ba province.
The young people spent a great weekend with the Navala Adventists but also help them to run the village’s lotu vakavanua, a service run once a month and taken by a different denomination in the village. This month, the service was to be run by the Seventh-day Adventist group, so the young people gave their energy and gifts of song to bless the village.
The group also helped build a shed for the church group and plan to raise money for a children’s Sabbath school shelter.
Members of the Highland Legacy Ministry plan to make more visits in the future, so they can continue to serve inhabitants of the remote interior of Fiji.
