Adventist Technology at the South Pacific Division (SPD) is establishing a software development team in the Philippines to help develop and improve digital tools for the Church.
The team will initially comprise four full-time staff based at the SunPlus Asia-Pacific hub on the Southern Asia-Pacific Division campus in Silang, Cavite. Its first focus will be Thrive—a system developed by Adventist Technology to help churches manage contacts and support people on their discipleship journey. The team may also support other Adventist Technology products and projects in the future.
The initiative follows an agreement between Adventist Technology and SunPlus, a General Conference (GC) entity. The memorandum of understanding was signed by SPD CFO Francois Keet and GC treasurer Paul Douglas on behalf of their respective organisations.
Under the partnership, Adventist Technology will guide the team’s work, while SunPlus will provide local employment arrangements, facilities and day-to-day support.
The new staff will work as part of Adventist Technology’s existing team, with both organisations involved in recruitment, mentoring and professional development. The aim is to build a lasting team within the Adventist Church.
Establishing the team in the Philippines will provide access to skilled professionals within the formal structure of the Adventist Church and help manage development costs, supporting Adventist Technology’s ability to serve the Church into the future.
The partnership also strengthens cooperation between the SPD and the GC through shared expertise and resources.
The signing follows planning throughout 2026 and clears the way for recruitment and establishment of the team.
