“Here to Serve” merch helps churches show Adventist identity

Churches across Australia can now order specially designed t-shirts, hats and other merchandise to wear during local community service activities, thanks to a new initiative from the South New South Wales and North New South Wales conferences of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

The range features the Adventist Community Services logo and the message “Here to Serve”—a reflection of the Church’s long-standing focus on practical service. Whether running an op shop, food pantry, clean-up or StormCo trip, local churches can now display the Adventist name and flame, helping communities connect positive acts of service with the Church’s mission and values.

The initiative responds to findings from a 2022 study conducted by McCrindle Research, which found that only 14 per cent of Australians know and feel positive toward the Adventist Church and just 11 per cent believe that Adventists “serve those in need” . By wearing unified branding, churches can build positive recognition for the good work already happening on the ground.

Local churches can now display the Adventist name and flame during community service activities.

“Various logos, siloed departments and concealed identities have muffled our message,” said South New South Wales communications coordinator Kyle Morrison.

“For the Church, a bright and bold logo isn’t vanity—it’s visibility that can turn an anonymous act into our Church’s brand identity. Creating a new and positive perception could be a key to winning more hearts to Christ.”

Churches don’t need a formal Adventist Community Services department to use the merchandise—it’s open to all members looking to make a visible difference in their local area.
