The Sydney Adventist Hospital community gathered in a spirit of gratitude and celebration on November 29 for the San thanksgiving service and dinner, held at Hornsby RSL.
Staff, executives, invited guests and supporters came together to reflect on God’s blessings over the past two years and to honour individuals and departments who have made exceptional contributions to the life and mission of the San.
Hosted by chaplains Paul O’Keefe and Peta Morris, the evening opened with a warm welcome and thanksgiving reflections from director of mission integration, Dr Steve Stephenson. The keynote message was presented by Pastor Terry Johnson, who serves the South Pacific Division as director for ministry and strategy, French and youth. His address invited the community to pause, reflect and recommit to the San’s mission of whole-person care.
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of certificates to the staff in People & Culture, Accounting Finance, and the Project Management Office, who were recognised for their professionalism, teamwork and ongoing dedication to the smooth functioning of hospital operations.
The night also featured the Tom and Pam Ludowici Leadership Awards, acknowledging individuals who embody exemplary leadership, integrity and service. This year’s recipients were Professor Gavin Marx, Bernadette Bisazza, Phillipa Moran, Pastor Trevor (Sid) Griffith, Adam Rennie and Natalie Gillett. Each awardee was recognised for their distinct contributions, whether through clinical leadership, pastoral care, operational support or innovative practice.
The evening included a shared meal, warm fellowship music and a sense of collective gratitude for the individuals and teams who daily embody the values of the San.
