An iconic Seventh-day Adventist Church in Newcastle, NSW, is featured in a composite mural celebrating the 150th anniversary of the suburb of Wallsend.

The mural, created by renowned local artist Trevor Dickinson, occupies an entire wall of the Wallsend Village shopping centre.

The church was constructed in 1966. Its striking sloping roofline and hilltop location make it a significant landmark in Newcastle’s western suburbs.

The church accommodated Wallsend members until 1998 when it was sold to the Multicultural Adventist congregation. The new Wallsend church was built on land adjacent to Macquarie College and opened in 2002.
