More than 680 church members gathered in Western Manus for a district camp meeting held from May 25 to 31, organised by the Madang Manus Mission (MMM).
The event brought together members from five districts across Manus Province: Eastern Manus, Central Manus, Southern Manus, Western Island and Western Manus. Hosted at Bundahei Seventh-day Adventist Church, the program featured daily worship services and training sessions focused on local church leadership and youth development.
Six organised churches and four church plants were represented at the meeting, with attendees including members recently baptised during PNG for Christ 2024.
Guest speakers included MMM Youth Director Pastor Robert Blake and former Papua New Guinea Union Mission Youth Director Pastor Timothy Sandau, who led worship and training programs throughout the week.

According to Bundahei church elder Nathan Savon, the training emphasised the importance of preparing young people for leadership roles in the Church. “The program aimed to equip our young people to meet today’s challenges and serve with purpose,” said Mr Savon.
Reflecting on the messages shared during the week, Mr Savon said the guest speakers challenged members “to stand firm and lead with purpose, focusing on the message of Revelation 14 and the urgency of Christ’s soon return.”
The Bundahei church, which hosted the meeting, was officially dedicated on October 7, 2020. The church building was funded by the Manus Governor, Honourable Charlie Benjamin, whose father served as a missionary teacher. The church was officially opened by Papua New Guinea Prime Minister Honourable James Marape, son of Pastor Marape from Tari, Hela Province.
