Sydney Adventist Hospital and San Day Surgery Hornsby celebrated Thrive Week from May 6 to 12.

Thrive Week highlights the importance of personal and professional growth, health and resilience of the staff who work at the San. The week-long event honours the 1200-plus nurses and more than 1200 other staff who work at the hospital.

“This is an event I look forward to every year,” Adventist HealthCare CEO Brett Goods said.

“We are blessed to have so many wonderful staff members who make a healthy difference. To be able to express our appreciation and show them that we recognise the exceptional work they do every day does not go unnoticed and is very important to us.”

One of the main events during Thrive Week is the staff awards. This year there were 84 recipients who received an award for years of service throughout the week. Thirty-eight staff received an award for 10 years of service, including Mr Goods. A further 32 staff were recognised for 20 years, 10 staff for 30 years and four for 40 years.

Staff were also entertained by live music around the hospital and were given meal vouchers to the San Cafe.
