Hillview Church (Morisset, NSW) recently held a special baptism ceremony for two young members of its Pathfinder Bible study group.

Ally-Mae Agafonov, a participant in Hillview’s Adventurer and Pathfinder clubs, was baptised by Pastor Neil Thompson, who had begun Bible studies during her time at Maitland church. Kyrah Page, who has been part of the Hillview congregation since birth, chose family friend Pastor Matt Atcheson to officiate her baptism.

More than 100 people attended the baptism ceremony.

The outdoor ceremony, attended by more than 100 people, coincided with a significant moment for both girls. “[They] especially chose this evening for the baptism as the following week they would both celebrate their thirteenth birthday,” said Bev Christian, Miss Page’s grandmother, who had played an important role in giving Bible studies to both girls.

Commenting on their decision, Miss Page said, “As teenagers, we want to make a public commitment to follow Jesus.”
