A special day of prayer and fasting will be held in French Polynesia on Sunday (September 5) in response to the nation’s worsening COVID-19 situation.
French Polynesia has been hit hard by the Delta variant of the virus, with 353 deaths to date, including 20 Seventh-day Adventists.
Sunday’s special day of prayer and fasting, from 6am until 12pm, has been initiated by the French Polynesian government. Adventists throughout the South Pacific are encouraged to join their brothers and sisters in French Polynesia to participate in the initiative.
New Zealand Pacific Union Conference president Pastor Eddie Tupa’i is asking for members to especially remember those who have lost loved ones.
“Please pray for our grieving families,” Pastor Tupa’i said.
