Buruku Adventist School (Solomon Islands) recently celebrated the opening of a new classroom block, with about 400 people attending the ceremony.
Secondary and primary staff and students and the Ughele Village Community organised the ceremony. Representatives from the school, village and church communities were in attendance, including district pastor Rodney Timothy.
The day’s speeches encouraged the school’s stakeholders to be committed, supportive and to utilise the facilities for learning, as well as to strive to fulfil the mission of the school and its motto: “Be a beacon for Him”.
Principal Denis John and the staff of Buruku acknowledged the work of former principal Jerrick Runimetu and his team for their involvement in building the new classrooms.
Following the opening ceremony, the guests had an opportunity to tour the new facilities and enjoy some refreshments.
