Sixty people attended the first-ever parenting workshop organised by Adventist Media’s ministry, Mums At The Table.
Held at Fox Valley Seventh-day Adventist Community Church in Wahroonga, New South Wales, on the evening of March 19, the workshop taught parents how to build resilience in their children. Mums At The Table’s resident psychologist, Collett Smart, who has more than 25 years practising experience, was the presenter.
Attendees were encouraged to discuss issues and ask questions during the lively and interactive workshop. They also had the opportunity to purchase Smart’s latest book, They’ll Be Ok: 15 Conversations to Help Your Child Through Troubled Times.
“Organising events and workshops such as this fits in perfectly with Mums At The Table’s philosophy of creating a community for mums so that they can be inspired, encouraged and resourced,” said Tracey Bridcutt, ministry coordinator for Mums At The Table. “We would love to hold more workshops in the future and look forward to being able to partner with local churches to do so.”
The event was promoted extensively in the local schools and community networks, and attracted attendees from the wider community.
