NZ churches set to reopen

The easing of COVID-19 restrictions in New Zealand means that most Seventh-day Adventist churches will be able to reopen on Sabbath.

The Division-wide initiative was a first for the Church in the South Pacific.

Everyone is invited to be part of this special Sabbath, which will be like no other in the history of the SPD.

"We lost churches, schools and hundreds of church members lost their homes."

The group launched Life.Box two weeks ago as an opportunity to contribute to the COVID-19 response effort in a meaningful way.

Adventist schools and staff houses are among the casualties of the destructive cyclone.

Vulnerable residents are being taken to Sarakata Adventist Church, which has been established by ADRA as an evacuation centre.

The Adventist-owned radio network has implemented a number of spiritual and practical initiatives to support communities around Australia.

The Conference's executive committee voted last night to cancel the event, which was due to be held June 26 to July 4.

"This decision has not been an easy one to make and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation in these difficult times."
