An Ambassadors retreat was held at Sonoma English Church, New Britain New Ireland Mission, Papua New Guinea, on the Sabbath of May 24. The program brought young people together to work through their Module 1 training booklet, facilitated by ambassador leaders.
The retreat focussed on the theme “Learning to lean on Jesus” with an inspirational message from Delvina Benjamin, as she challenged every Ambassador in Sonoma to face the real world out there.
The program was held to complete the module one Ambassador workbook so students could then focus and prepare for their exams and the practicums.
Ambassadors is a youth-training program, developed for 16-20 year olds, that follows Pathfinders and teaches Adventist young people leadership skills. There are seven modules that can be worked through.
There were group discussions, where each Ambassador could contribute and discuss developing Christ-like characters. According to attendees, one of the lessons that stood out was the need of “dying with Christ and offer a living sacrifice”.
At the end of the program, each Ambassador was given a chance to share a reflection about what had inspired them. Ambassador leader Joe Benjamin has indicated that the Ambassadors will next work through the module two workbook.
