More than 200 people attended a youth rally at Wollongong Adventist Church, Sydney (NSW), on August 10.
“Big Prayer” was the theme of the event, which featured guest speakers and music. It was followed by a walk along the nearby beach.
Commenting on the theme of the event, Greater Sydney Conference youth director Pastor Dejan Stojkovic said the vitality of a church is reflected in the way they pray. “When our prayers are solely inward-focused—benefiting only ourselves, our families, and a few close friends—we risk becoming inward-focused Christians, confined to the rituals of self-preservation,” said Pastor Stojkovic.
“But when we shift our prayers outward, interceding for others and daring to ask God for transformative and magnificent acts, we spark a divine movement. The theme of the Southern Youth Rally, ‘Big Prayer’, perfectly encapsulated this spirit,” he added.
Pastor Stojkovic said witnessing young people travelling from the inner city to support the rally was inspiring. “We are deeply thankful to God for every person who played a part in making this event extraordinary.”
The next Sydney Youth event will be a worship night on November 15 at Stanmore Seventh-day Adventist Church.
