Adventist HealthCare has released a statement in response to the coronavirus outbreak:
“Adventist HealthCare recognises the significance of novel coronavirus 2019, which is causing global concern and appreciates the evidence-based health response being coordinated by the Commonwealth’s chief medical officer and the Australian Health Protection principal.
“In the interests of being proactive and preventative at both the Sydney Adventist Hospital and the San Day Surgery Hornsby, Adventist HealthCare has established a response team of senior hospital executives, infection control experts and infectious disease physicians who are liaising regularly with NSW Health to follow suggested processes and mitigate potential risks.
“Building on the hospital and day surgery’s existing high standard infection control protocols, additional preventative measures have been implemented to minimise risk and maximise patient, staff and visitor health and safety.
“These measures follow NSW Health advice and provide for screening of patients, employees, medical staff, volunteers and students, isolation of any at-risk cases, the supply of personal protective equipment and masks to staff, and ongoing reassessment based on the changing status of the spread of the virus.
“We appreciate the support of our community during this time.”
