A major evangelistic movement is about to sweep across the Pacific, with the first public meetings of Trans Pacific for Christ beginning on July 5 in the Solomon Islands and Tuvalu.
During July and August, local and international speakers will join church members in sharing hope, faith and the message of Jesus with communities throughout the Pacific region.
Among those answering the call is a team of 13 women from Sydney Adventist Women, who have travelled to the Solomon Islands to support the campaign through preaching, Bible studies, children’s programs, health outreach and prison ministry. The team will be ministering across six sites and reflect a broad range of cultures, professions and life experiences.

“Their willingness to step away from their families, workplaces, churches and personal commitments to answer God’s call is both inspiring and humbling,” said Greater Sydney Conference women’s ministries director Meleofa Tovo.
“I am immensely proud of this team. They are not travelling simply as representatives of Sydney Adventist Women, but as ambassadors for Christ. Their hearts for service, compassion and mission reflect the spirit of Jesus, who came not to be served, but to serve. I am excited to see how God will use them to touch lives, strengthen communities and build His kingdom in the Solomon Islands.”
Ms Tovo said mission has a way of changing not only the lives of those being served, but also those who step out in faith to serve others.
“I believe these women will return home with stories of answered prayers, transformed hearts and renewed faith.”
For team member Minerva Sindac-Lebmeier, the trip marks both her first visit to the Solomon Islands and her first overseas mission experience.
“I don’t really know what to expect,” she said. “I’m humbled for the opportunity to be part of this mission. I know I will be blessed personally and can’t wait to see where God leads me.”
