Pacific Adventist University (PAU) recently celebrated Adventist Heritage Month with a 10-day program hosted at the library’s Archives and Heritage Centre. The event honoured early Adventist pioneers and commemorated October 22, 1844—known in Church history as the Great Disappointment.
Organised for the first time by the library staff, the initiative followed the theme “Learn, Share and Live the Advent Hope.” The event included morning devotions led by theology lecturer Dr Ronell Mamarimbing and reflections on key historical moments in Adventist history.
Geena Kuson, coordinator and librarian of the PAU Archives and Heritage Centre, highlighted the value of learning from the past and acknowledged the contributions of Dr Ronell Mamarimbing.
To mark the October 22 anniversary, library staff dressed as historical Adventist figures and posed for a group photo in front of the centre’s mural.
A key feature of the program was the launch of a new Adventist resource centre, located within the Archives and Heritage Centre. The space will provide Pathfinders with access to Adventist materials to support their learning and spiritual growth.
