Adventurer and Pathfinder club leaders and support staff from across the North New Zealand Conference (NNZC) have gathered recently for the first NNZC Club Leadership Forum held in Wellington.

The forum’s guest speaker was South Pacific Division leader Dr Nick Kross (SPD), who previously served for five years in NNZC. “I was so blessed to be back with my Kiwi family again,” said Dr Kross. “It was a genuine time of fellowship with lots of prayer, singing, laughter and even some tears,” he added.

The presentations titled DiscipleSHIFT, RelationSHIFT and StewardSHIFT covered a range of topics to help equip club leaders to understand the minds of teenagers and build an intentional relationship with them and with God. The NNZC Club Ministries theme, Tauawhi (Embrace), and Kingdom strategy were also presented and well-received by participants.

A special awards ceremony recognised achievements from 2022. “The award acknowledged the hard work and dedication of club leaders in their efforts to support and develop their clubs,” explained NNZC Adventurers and Pathfinders director Maranatha Fidow. Additionally, pins for years of leadership service—ranging from 5 to 25 years—were awarded. A special mention to Tom Bottin, one of the original three district directors in New Zealand. “Mr Bottin’s presence at the event was a blessing. Participants were grateful for the opportunity to meet him,” Mrs Fidow added.

According to her, at the end of the forum, the participants left to their respective clubs, eager to serve as catalysts for change in their ministries.

“The district directors were praised for their passion and dedication to keep pouring into the next generation. We also acknowledge the wonderful staff at Tui Ridge, who were gracious hosts as always,” Mrs Fidow said.
