Thousands of people shared in the spirit of Christmas and were reminded of the real reason for the season at the annual Sydney Adventist Hospital Carols by Candlelight on Sunday (December 8).
An iconic event held annually for more than 60 years, the free Christmas celebration is the upper north shore’s largest community carols.
Getting the evening festivities underway, San CEO Brett Goods welcomed the crowd, followed by a video message and prayer by hospital Board chairman Pastor Glenn Townend. The main carols program featured Australian performer Silvie Paladino and musical theatre star Michael Cormick, who were joined by the Wahroonga Adventist School choir, gospel group Endless Praise and singer Jana Aveling.
Earlier in the day a variety of activities, including farmyard animals and the Rural Fire Service truck, kept youngsters entertained. Event-goers had the opportunity to have a wellness assessment conducted by members of Wahroonga Adventist Church. Adventist Media ministry Mums At The Table ran a promotional booth at the event.
