1. He should be independent
“But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female. For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife.” (Mark 10:6,7)
2. He should demonstrate leadership
“For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Saviour of the body.” (Ephesians 5:23)
3. He should have healthy self-esteem
“So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself.” (Ephesians 5:28)
4. He should trust you
“Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies. The heart of her husband safely trusts her, so he will have no lack of gain.” (Proverbs 31:10,11)
5. He should be loyal and committed to you
“The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. And likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.” (1 Corinthians 7:4)
6. He should show you appreciation
“Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.” (Proverbs 31:28)
7. He should give affection
“Let the husband render to his wife the affection due her, and likewise also the wife to her husband.” (1 Corinthians 7:3)
8. He should have self-control
“Do not mix with winebibbers, or with gluttonous eaters of meat. For the drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty. And drowsiness will clothe a man with rags.” (Proverbs 23:20,21)
9. He should have good communication skills
“So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath, for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.” (James 1:19,20)
10. He should have a willingness to be changed by God
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” (Proverbs 1:7)
