A team of eight directors and sectional managers from the Student Services department at Pacific Adventist University (PAU) recently visited Adventist universities and other institutions across South East Asia as part of a performance analysis.

Leaving on Sunday, July 7, and returning on Thursday, July 18, the staff travelled to Manila to visit Adventist University of the Philippines (AUP) and the Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies (AIIAS), where they also toured the missionary training college, Division office and prayer gardens. The team then visited Asia Pacific International University of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Thailand.

Pacific Adventist University Student Services director Thomas Davai explained that the purpose of the tour was to compare and identify gaps in student services at PAU in order to make potential improvements.

“Going on an educational tour to other institutions in another country is all about benchmarking, but without losing focus on our own goals and visions,” he said, “We came away appreciating what is being done [in other contexts]. We have realised that we cannot improve if we do not measure.”
