Macarthur Adventist College (MAC) students will be playing tonight at Ampol State of Origin’s first match during half-time.
The students were selected to take part in the Ampol Little Origin initiative after MAC teacher Jacqueline Maua entered the college for the selection process.
In the application process, Mrs Maua shared MAC’s values of respect, responsibility, resilience and attitude. “She made quite the impact, and now a select number of our Primary students have the opportunity of a lifetime to run out onto the field at half-time during State of Origin to take part in the Little Origin match,” said MAC principal Sam Lett.
As selected participants, the students will also experience a stadium tour, have the chance to take part in an official NRL clinic hosted by NRL legends and gain access to a bespoke NRL League Stars learning session. As a winning school, they will also receive a $A5000 monetary grant.
“We want to congratulate our students Losi and Isaac, who will play wearing the Blues jersey, and McKenzie and Timothy, who will play wearing the Maroons jersey, with more of our students to join the team in the upcoming days,” said Mr Lett.
“As a college community, we are also incredibly proud of Mrs Maua for her initiative in entering the college into the competition and giving our students such a memorable experience that I have no doubt they will,” he added.
