Students from Kempsey Adventist School (KAS) are gearing up to represent NSW at a prestigious global youth event.
The NSW Department of Industry has asked KAS to nominate students to attend the 2018 Guangdong International Youth Exchange Week to be held in China from July 26 to August 1.
The KAS team will be working alongside students from the United States, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Germany, Switzerland, the Czech Republic and many other nations, participating in a week-long program focused on scientific and cultural events in Guangzhou, Foshan and Shenzhen.
While there will be a specific focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and artificial intelligence activities, students will also have the opportunity to experience numerous aspects of Chinese culture.
“The selection of KAS to represent NSW at this event is a huge vote of confidence in the school’s learning programs and underlines the emerging presence of KAS as a leader in educational innovation in this state,” according to a report in the school’s newsletter.
“By preparing students for the workplaces and careers of the 21st century through industry relevant use of robotics, 3D printing, laser cutting, coding and other such technologies, KAS students are increasingly coming to the notice of key school partners such as the University of Technology Sydney and the Commonwealth Bank where KAS students are engaged with industry experts in planning and shaping their innovative career pathways of the future.”
