Avondale University has appointed Professor Kerri-Lee Krause as its interim vice-chancellor and president.
Professor Krause accepted the invitation while Avondale Council implements a “rigorous” search process to find a permanent vice-chancellor and president. Having served as an executive at La Trobe University, Victoria University, the University of Western Sydney and The University of Melbourne, her “experience in higher education leadership will be valuable,” said Chancellor Pastor Glenn Townend.
Professor Krause is Provost and Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor.
The decision to appoint an interim vice-chancellor and president follows the decision by Professor Kevin Petrie to step down. Professor Petrie is on leave but will remain on staff in the “substantive role” as a senior lecturer and researcher in the School of Education and Science. “We look forward to welcoming him back to this role next semester,” said Professor Krause.
