Women display sewing skills in Papua New Guinea

Mendi District in the Western Highlands Mission of Papua New Guinea hosted its District Camp Meeting at Wakwak church on June 2.

Stewardship and Family Ministries director of the Western Highlands Mission, Pastor Leighton Kasimo, was the guest speaker. He talked about the importance of strong family principles and the responsibility of mothers and fathers to maintain correct priorities and lead their families in worship each day, in preparation for Christ’s soon return.

During the day Pastor Kasimo and his wife conducted skills training on financial literacy, tailoring, flower decorating and draping. Thirty sewing machines were repaired by Pastor Kasimo. Mendi District director, Pastor Harry Omohae, thanked the couple on behalf of the participants for imparting their special skills.

Ordinarily training meeting attendees pay fees, however no fees were charged for the training run by Pastor Kasimo and is wife. The attendees expressed gratitude for the couple’s generosity in sharing their skills.
