The Trans-Pacific Union Mission (TPUM) appointed a new general secretary at the year-end meetings held this week at South Pacific Division headquarters in Wahroonga, New South Wales.
I want to contribute whatever I can to achieve that mission. I want to help Pacific Islanders to be great leaders.
Pastor Maveni Kaufononga has served as the TPUM Youth Ministries director since 2009. Pastor Kaufononga has experience around the South Pacific working in a number of countries apart from his native Tonga. He began working as a pastor in Tonga in 1987 and has served as youth director in the Cook Islands, where his wife is from, and a university chaplain in Fiji.
“We have a vision to breed a vibrant Adventist movement living our hope in Jesus and transforming the Pacific,” said Pastor Kaufononga. “I want to contribute whatever I can to achieve that mission. I want to help Pacific Islanders to be great leaders.”
Pastor Wayne Boehm previously held the position. He is relocating to pastor Wallsend church, NSW.
