Sydney Adventist Hospital Limited, the legal entity behind the Adventist Church’s medical work in Sydney, has been renamed Adventist HealthCare Limited. The decision was made in order to better reflect the company’s range of activities, which encompass Sydney Adventist Hospital, Dalcross Adventist Hospital, San Day Surgery Hornsby and San Diagnostics & Pharmacy.

The organisation’s executive committee members sought a more comprehensive name for the company that oversees a growing portfolio of healthcare businesses.

Leisa O’Connor, corporate communication’s manager for the company, announced the rebadging yesterday, saying the change will not effect the naming of the iconic Sydney Adventist Hospital, or “the San” as it is affectionately known by locals on Sydney’s north shore.

The decision to make the change dates back to the Annual General Meeting of Sydney Adventist Hospital Limited in November last year. The organisation’s executive committee members sought a more comprehensive name for the company that oversees a growing portfolio of healthcare businesses.

Adventist HealthCare Limited employs more than 2400 staff members and works with approximately 900 accredited medical practitioners and 500 volunteers.

This year, the Sydney Adventist Hospital celebrates its 110th year of operation.
